What you’ll do - Ko tōu ake mahi
Help shape the future of New Zealand’s health workforce. As part of the Strategy and Policy Group, you'll contribute to policy that supports a sustainable, accessible, and responsive health system for all New Zealanders.
You'll develop evidence-informed advice for Ministers that seeks to manage health workforce challenges to ensure New Zealand has the workforce to meet the needs of the health system. This includes driving improvement in education, training, immigration, employment and planning settings for the health workforce. Based in Wellington, this is an opportunity to work on complex and high-impact issues that matter.
- Develop policy advice, briefings, and guidance on health workforce issues.
- Analyse data, evidence, and emerging trends to inform policy development and decision-making.
- Prepare responses to ministerials, Official Information Act requests, and meeting-related advice.
- Collaborate across the Ministry and with sector stakeholders to support the delivery of strategic workforce priorities.
What you’ll bring - Ko ngā pūkenga ōu
- Experience developing policy advice, or an understanding of social policy and public sector issues.
- A tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex information and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor advice for different audiences.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders.
