This role offers the opportunity to leverage “Rakuten Points”-one of Japan’s leading marketing assets-and drive change that influences the behavior of tens of millions of users. It is an extremely rare position that allows you to lead the entire process-from strategy development to “execution”-in a seamless manner, involving product teams, data teams, and senior management.

Position Details

Use market, customer and business data to develop Rakuten Point strategy and drive new initiatives through execution and improvement.


・Analyze markets, competitors and customer behavior.
・Develop strategy, KPIs and roadmaps.
・Plan new programs and products and assess business viability.
・Lead cross-functional projects with Rakuten services, development and data teams.
・Measure impact and improve initiatives.

Work Environment

A compact, cross-functional team with expertise in strategy, marketing, UX, data and product drives group-wide initiatives.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Experience in strategy, business, product, marketing or CRM planning.
・Experience in designing KPIs and implementing initiatives based on data (SQL, BI, etc.).

・Skills in structuring complex issues and presenting proposals to and gaining consensus from senior management.
・Cross-functional project leadership experience.
・Advanced business communication skills in Japanese.

Desired Qualifications:

・Experience in points, loyalty, payments, CRM or membership programs.
・Experience with SQL, BI tools or similar analytics tools.
・Experience with P/L, ROI, pricing or business model design.
・Planning or product management experience for large-scale web, app or platform businesses.
・Experience working in English.
