Your Role
As a Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient supply of raw materials to support manufacturing operations across the business. Working closely with suppliers, mills, hauliers and internal stakeholders, you will coordinate the planning, purchasing and movement of raw materials, ensuring continuity of supply, cost-effective operations and accurate contract management. You will play a key role in responding to changing operational requirements, resolving supply issues and maintaining strong relationships across the supply chain.
Your Responsibilities
Logistics & Planning
- Ensure continuity of supply and quality of designated raw materials at the best possible cost, making any necessary adjustments to delivery schedules to meet mill demand.
- Manage raw material supply contracts effectively, ensuring compliance with contract validity periods, rent due dates and geographical location requirements.
- Anticipate and resolve short-term supply issues in the most cost-effective manner, escalating to the Raw Material Manager and Formulator where appropriate.
- Monitor and track raw material orders to ensure deliveries arrive at mills on time and in line with operational requirements.
- Process purchase requisitions raised by Mill Planners into purchase orders where required, using relevant contracts and information records.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and Mill Planners, identifying opportunities to improve operational practices and minimise unnecessary costs.
Storage & Haulage
- Monitor and control storage and rental costs, ensuring these are kept to a minimum.
- Liaise with storekeepers to ensure the effective storage and collection of raw materials and resolve routine operational queries.
- Maintain effective relationships with third-party haulage providers, promoting high standards of cleanliness, traceability and service.
- Ensure haulage and storage activities are carried out in accordance with the TASCC Code of Practice.
- Support supplier, haulier and storage audits as required.
Contract Administration
- Ensure contracts are extended, amended or closed in a timely manner to maintain the accuracy and integrity of contract records.
- Manage quality-related claims for nominated raw materials where delivered quality falls below contractual specifications.
- Investigate and resolve contract-related queries in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
General
- Provide support and cover for colleagues within the Raw Material Logistics team during periods of absence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support the wider objectives of the team.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required and commensurate with the role.

- Knowledge of contract administration and supplier management processes.
