The PharmSci Operation Quality (PSOQ) Innovation Lead is responsible for fostering and enabling a culture of innovation, supporting continuous improvement, and digital transformation across PharmSci Operations Quality (PSOQ). The role provides leadership for the PSOQ Continuous Improvement (CI) Engine, ensuring that ideas, opportunities, and improvement initiatives are systematically identified, evaluated, prioritised, and scaled to deliver measurable business value.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
Acting as a key link between PSOQ and Pfizer's broader innovation ecosystem, including the QSEO (Quality, Safety, Environment and Operations) Innovation Council, the role helps ensure that PSOQ leverages enterprise capabilities, best practices, emerging technologies, and organisational learning to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Working in close partnership with the PharmSci Trainer and Continuous Improvement Lead, this role will help identify and advance innovative solutions that improve efficiency, simplify processes, enhance quality and compliance, and elevate the colleague experience.
This secondment presents a unique opportunity to help shape the future of innovation within PSOQ by supporting the development of a sustainable innovation capability, including the vision, operating model, governance, and ways of working needed to deliver long-term value for patients, colleagues, and the business.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Innovation Transformation
Support the development and evolution of the PSOQ Innovation Strategy.
Create an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Promote simplification and innovative ways of working across PSOQ.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, quality, and colleague experience through innovative solutions.
Partner with Digital and AI initiatives to drive awareness and adoption of innovative technologies including AI, automation, predictive analytics, and digital solutions.
Serve as a member of the QSEO Innovation Council, providing input, governance and sponsorship of innovation initiatives that drive operational excellence and business value.
Partner closely with the PharmSci Trainer and Continuous Improvement Lead to ensure alignment of innovation activities with broader capability-building and continuous improvement objectives.
Function as an Innovation Coach for PSOQ, facilitating innovation workshops, developing creative capability, supporting the progression of ideas through the CI Engine, and fostering a culture of innovation across the organisation through the application of innovation tools, methodologies, and creative habits.
CI Engine Lead
Lead the PSOQ CI Engine framework, including idea intake, evaluation, prioritisation, governance, implementation, and benefits tracking.
Ensure a sustainable and scalable process exists for capturing, assessing, and progressing opportunities across PSOQ.
Ensure mechanisms are in place to monitor progress, measure outcomes and communicate impact.
Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics and reporting to demonstrate value delivery.
Facilitate the progression of ideas from concept through implementation and benefit realisation.
Capability Building
Design and facilitate learning experiences, workshops, innovation events, and awareness activities.
Support colleagues and teams in identifying, shaping, and implementing innovative solutions.
Promote innovation tools, methodologies, and best practices across PSOQ.
Work in partnership with the PharmSci Trainer and Continuous Improvement Lead to help build organisational capability and sustain innovation momentum.
Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams and business lines.
Enterprise Collaboration and External Connectivity
Function as the primary liaison between PSOQ and Pfizer innovation networks across PGS, R&D, QSEO and Digital.
Identify opportunities to leverage existing tools, solutions, best practices, and lessons learned from other organisations.
Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across quality and business functions.
Ensure PSOQ remains connected to and benefits from the broader Pfizer innovation ecosystem.
Core Accountabilities
Leads the PSOQ Innovation System (CI Engine).
Maintains effective connectivity between PSOQ and enterprise innovation ecosystems.
Ensures innovation activities are consistent, scalable, measurable, and sustainable.
Enables PSOQ colleagues to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions that improve compliance, efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes.
Partners with the PharmSci Trainer and Continuous Improvement Lead to support capability building and continuous improvement objectives across PSOQ.
Helps create a future-ready PSOQ where innovation, digital capability and quality excellence work together to simplify work, accelerate learning and deliver greater value for patients and colleagues.
Supports the development of a sustainable innovation framework that delivers lasting value for colleagues, quality, and patients.
Function as an Innovation Coach for PSOQ, facilitating innovation workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 3+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant experience.
Passion for innovation and digital transformation.
Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Experience supporting change initiatives and driving adoption of new ways of working.
Ability to connect people, ideas, and capabilities across organisational boundaries.
Strong facilitation, collaboration, and communication skills.
Interest in emerging technologies, AI, automation, and future ways of working.
Demonstrated ability to turn ideas into measurable business outcomes.
Experience working collaboratively with capability-building, training, or continuous improvement functions.

Secondment 18 months.
