Pharmacist Specialty- Paragon

Location: 3033 W President George Bush Hwy, Ste 100, Plano, TX, 75075

Shift: Full time, between 7:30a-7:30p, Monday-Friday, with an on-call rotation that does includes weekends.

Onsite: This role requires associates to work from the posted locations full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support.

The Pharmacist Specialty (US) will be responsible to perform the duties of a licensed pharmacist. Ensures adherence to laws and regulations and maintains compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations as well as local, state, and federal requirements as it pertains to prescriptions.

How you will make an impact:

• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security and inventory of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
• Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
• Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding providing pharmaceutical care.
• Answers questions and provides information to patients on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner.
• Lead the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment technicians.
• Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, and ensures quality, security, and proper disposal.
• Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining, and tracking all infusion related equipment.
• May be required travel to different worksite and other locations, as necessary.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in clinic and/or alternate site/home health pharmacy service; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Current unrestricted Pharmacist license in applicable state(s) required. 
• Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states. 
• For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• PharmD preferred.
• Additionally Licensed in any of the following states: AL, AR, CA, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MI, MS, NE, NV, OK, OR, TN, YA, and WV.
