The Role:

We’re looking for Performance Ad Scriptwriters to write the 30 to 60 second video ads that drive Emergent’s paid growth in the US. Think of each script as a short screenplay. It should be complete enough that a video team, whether that’s an AI production pipeline or a human agency, can shoot it straight from the page with no back and forth.

Every script you write sets out the character, the setting, the dialogue, the visual beats, and the hook, all built to stop the scroll and make people act. You’ll write for American audiences, so you need to understand how they talk, what they care about, and what makes them click.

What You’ll Do:

• Write 30 to 60 second scripts for performance video ads across Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and other paid channels
• Build complete scripts that cover character, background and setting, dialogue, voiceover, on-screen text, and shot direction
• Write natural, culturally accurate dialogue for US audiences
• Find and test many angles for the same product: different pain points, personas, hooks, and formats, from UGC-style and testimonial to problem-solution, demo, and skit
• Turn product features and user insights into simple stories that convert
• Work with AI video creators, editors, and external agencies so scripts translate well onto the screen
• Use performance data (hook rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS) to refine angles and keep improving winning concepts
• Put out a steady volume of fresh concepts each week to fight creative fatigue

What We’re Looking For:

• 2 to 6 years of experience writing performance or direct-response ad scripts and copy
• Clear experience writing for the US market: you know American tone, slang, and audience psychology. 
• A portfolio of video ad scripts or finished ads you’ve written, for any brand
• Strong structured thinking: you can explain why a script works, not just write it
• Range: you can take one product and come up with many distinct angles
• You write the copy yourself, end-to-end
• Comfortable working at speed and volume in a fast-moving startup

Good to Have:

• B2B SaaS performance marketing experience, especially across more than one SaaS brand
• In-house experience at a brand or product company (preferred over agency-only backgrounds)
• Familiarity with AI video tools and writing scripts that suit AI-generated production
• Experience with UGC and creator-led ad formats
