JOB OVERVIEW

The HR Automation Lead will lead the development and adoption of simplified ways of working across the People Team. The role is responsible for shaping and delivering the HR simplification roadmap, improving HR technology capabilities, strengthening people data management, and enabling HR teams to use technology, automation, and AI to improve employee experience and business outcomes.

Working closely with HR leadership, Technology, Data, information security teams, and external partners, the role will drive innovation, improve data quality and reporting, and ensure that HR technology investments deliver measurable value. The role acts as the People Team's trusted advisor on automation, AI, technology, and people data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain the People Team simplification roadmap aligned to organisational priorities and HR objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes through AI, analytics, and digital solutions.
  • Act as the People Team’s AI Champion – turning requirements into deployment-ready Co Pilot Studio enterprise agents.
  • Act as the People Team's subject matter expert on automation, AI, HR technology, and people data.
  • Own and continuously improve the HR technology landscape in partnership with Technology teams and external suppliers.
  • Improve HR data quality, accessibility, reporting, and data governance practices.
  • Lead AI and technology pilots, ensuring clear benefits tracking and measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver AI learning programmes, practical guidance, and capability-building activities for HR colleagues.
  • Partner with HR leaders to identify and prioritise technology and process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with HR technology vendors and implementation partners.
  • Facilitate collaboration across People, Technology, Data, Risk, and Security teams.
  • Monitor emerging AI, HR technology, and future-of-work trends and provide recommendations for adoption.
  • Develop reporting and insights that support workforce planning, employee experience, and strategic decision-making.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement across HR processes and services.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in HR, HR Technology, Digital HR, HR Transformation, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle management.
  • Experience in building and deploying Agents through Co Pilot Studio.
  • Experience building workflows in Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Experience applying AI, analytics, automation, or digital solutions in a business environment.
  • Experience working with HR systems, reporting, data management, and technology vendors.
  • Experience leading change, transformation, or innovation initiatives.
  • Experience delivering training, capability-building, or adoption programmes.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and technology teams.

  • Applies simplification techniques to streamline banking processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilises tools such as process mapping, lean methodologies, and automation to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement simplification initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Monitors and measures the impact of simplification efforts, using metrics to track improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Identifies and addresses potential barriers to simplification, such as resistance to change or regulatory constraints.

5. Change Management

LEVEL: Practitioner

DESCRIPTION:

  • Demonstrates the ability to apply agile principles and change management techniques in day-to-day tasks and projects.
  • Understands and can perform key roles in agile teams (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner) and change management teams (e.g., Change Agent, Change Leader).
  • Proficient in using agile and change management tools and software.
  • Capable of implementing agile practices such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, as well as change management activities such as stakeholder analysis and change impact assessments.
  • Engages effectively with cross-functional teams to facilitate agile and change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions and adaptations.
  • Able to well adapt to changing priorities.
