Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Pediatric CVICU
University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join the Pediatric CVICU clinical practice.

In This Role, You Will:
- Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients in the CVICU.
- Have inpatient responsibilities at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and congenital heart disease patients in the CVICU; formulate differential diagnoses; interpret diagnostic studies; and develop, implement, and adjust evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, parents, and caregivers regarding congenital and acquired cardiac conditions, postoperative recovery, treatment plans, medications, procedures, and strategies to optimize long-term cardiovascular health and outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Spend the first few months observing with providers in our division to learn pediatric critical care. We will develop an educational plan for you.
Schedule:
- Part Time – 0.9 FTE
- 6:30am-6:30pm. Every 4th weekend. Rotating holidays.

We’re Looking For a PA or PNP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC, PNCB or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (PNP’s).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
