Position Overview
Seeking an experienced APP to shape the future of our growing Pediatric Interventional Radiology service at Golisano Children's Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital. APP will provide comprehensive care to both inpatient and outpatient pediatric IR patients. As the face of Pediatric IR you’ll guide patients through the entire breadth of their IR experience from clinic to post-procedural rounds and complication management. You'll collaborate closely with faculty, fellows/residents, adult IR APPs, nursing staff, technologists, and anesthesia teams to ensure safe, high-quality procedural care.

Applicants should be comfortable with both independent and collaborative work, adaptable, and passionate about pediatric care and procedure-based medicine.

General Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive pre-procedural evaluations for all pediatric IR consultations at GCH and SMH (<18 years), coordinating procedural scheduling with faculty and supporting services. Provide post-procedural rounding and ongoing management for all admitted patients. Obtain informed consent, create pre-procedural documentation, communicate with nursing and anesthesia teams, and manage post-procedural orders and complications. Monitor both inpatient and outpatient consultation requests to facilitate efficient triage and scheduling. Conduct independent clinic using telehealth and in-person visits to prepare patients for routine procedures as well as joint complex case clinic with faculty. Build relationships with referring providers to expand referral pathways across the health system. Participate in departmental committees, lead quality improvement initiatives, develop and maintain clinical protocols and guidelines, create patient education materials, and mentor other APPs on the team. Document accurately and ensure billing compliance.Participation in pediatric IR procedures will be based on prior individual training, credentialing, and scope of practice, with opportunities to develop skills under experienced IR physician mentorship.

Requirements
NYS licensure as PNP, FNP, or PA; national certifications required within 6 months of hire. Ideally 2+  years of acute pediatric or mixed adult/pediatric experience in radiology, pediatric critical care, pediatric PACU, or pediatric ED. Strong assessment, communication, and IV skills are essential. PALS certification required

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
