Job Description

Purpose

To work with clients to provide a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes, wealth structuring, lending and banking services. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.

  • Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings

  • Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.

  • Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.

  • Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.

  • Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.

  • Participation in events, conferences and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.

  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.

  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.

  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.

  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.

  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Join us as Paraplanning Manager to support the growth and development of a collaborative Paraplanning function that plays a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning advice. In this role, you will oversee a team of approximately 10 Paraplanners across multiple locations, helping colleagues develop their technical expertise, broaden their knowledge and progress their careers. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of workflow, ensuring advice support activities are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements and business standards.

Working closely with Wealth Planners, Wealth Advisory teams, Operations, Risk, Compliance and external providers, you will help create an effective and consistent advice process that supports positive client outcomes. The role also offers the opportunity to shape and enhance paraplanning processes, improve consistency across the function, and encourage the use of technology and AI-enabled solutions to support productivity, quality and service delivery. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys developing people, building relationships across multiple teams, and driving continuous improvement within a financial planning environment.

To be successful as a Paraplanning Manager, you should have experience with:

  • Financial planning, paraplanning or wealth planning support within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Coaching, developing and supporting teams, including colleagues across multiple locations.
  • Suitability report preparation, research activity and end-to-end financial planning processes.
  • Improving workflows, quality standards, controls and operational processes.
  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent qualification).

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • CII Level 6 Advanced Diploma, Chartered status, or progress towards these qualifications.
  • Knowledge of investments, pensions, protection, tax wrappers and wider financial planning considerations.
  • Experience with technology adoption, AI-enabled tools or business change activity.
  • Collaboration with advisers, providers, operations, risk and compliance teams.
  • Experience overseeing paraplanning quality assurance, service delivery or workflow planning.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in London.
