We are looking for two skilled Painters / Signwriters to join our team - one position based in Gauteng on a 6-month contract and one based in the Western Cape on a 4-month contract. This is not a standard painting role - your will be responsible for the professional painting and stencilled branding of walls, buildings and structures across ikeja's Gauteng and Western Cape sites, supporting the company's marketing and brand visibility in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces (cleaning, sanding, filling, masking) prior to painting to ensure a professional, durable finish.
- Apply paint using brush, roller and/or spray equipment as appropriate to the job.
- Interpret and follow design briefs, colour references and branding guidelines provided by the Field Sales Lead.
- Paint and maintain company walls, buildings and structures across assigned sites in the relevant province.
- Travel to site and community locations in the company vehicle to complete external wall branding and marketing paint work.
- Manage and account for paint, materials and equipment issued for each job.
- Ensure all painted and stencilled work is neat, accurate, durable and completed within agreed timelines.
- Report on completed work, materials used and site conditions to the Field Sales Lead.
- Conduct minor surface repairs (filling cracks, patching) prior to painting where required.
- Ensure the safe use, storage and disposal of paint, solvents and related materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area, including use of drop sheets, masking and protective coverings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including the safe use of ladders/scaffolding when working at height.
- Take clear before-and-after photographs of all painting and stencil work completed at each site and document on the relevant job cards.
- Work efficiently to meet all painting and branding deadlines as communicated, ensuring assigned field work and scheduled painting jobs are completed within the required timeframes.
Requirements
- Basic literacy and numeracy - able to read design briefs and complete site/material reports.
- Valid South African driver's licence (Code B or higher).
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a professional Painter, with proven, demonstrable skill in branding/signage painting.
- Experienced working with power tools, mounting brackets & signage.
- Own reliable transport to and from work - a company vehicle will be provided for operational/site travel.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at height (ladders) and in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry and set up painting equipment and materials.
- Willing to travel between sites within the relevant province as business needs require.
- Comfortable using a smartphone to take and submit clear site photographs (before-and-after documentation).
Applicants may be required to provide a portfolio or photographic evidence of previous painting, branding, signage, or related work. Previous experience and examples of work submitted may be verified as part of the recruitment process.
Skills and Competencies
- High level of precision, neatness and attention to detail.
- Strong stencil, lettering and freehand painting skill.
- Good colour sense and ability to follow design guidelines.
- Strong sense of pride and ownership in the quality and durability of finished work.
- Good communication skills to liaise with the Field Sales Lead, site owners/occupants and community members.
- Safety-conscious, with responsible handling of paint, solvents and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage own schedule across multiple sites.
- Adaptable and willing to travel to various sites within the relevant province.
- Competent using power tools for mounting signage.
