We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Operator to join our team. The role involves ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly within the designated work areas.
Key responsabilities
- Ensure the daily operations of the working zones.
- Collect all relevant data specified on the zone log sheets.
- Take action where required and report any anomalies to the Control Room Operator, Chief Operator, and/or Section Supervisor.
- Coordinate maintenance and engineering activities with the Control Room Operator, carrying out the required plant isolations/de-isolations and ensuring all other precautions specified on the work permit are followed.
- Stop and start equipment as required.
- Ensure general housekeeping and undertake first-line maintenance activities within the working zones.
- Carry out routine equipment and plant isolations, ensuring that all other precautions stated on the permit are adhered to.
- Start and stop equipment when required after carrying out the necessary pre-start and shutdown checks.
- Minimise the number of station, gas compression, or individual equipment trips by controlling the production process and responding to process parameters and alarms.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment parameters within the zone (as specified on the log sheets) and update the zone logbooks accordingly.
- Report any anomalies occurring within the zone to the Control Room Operator, Chief Operator, and/or Section Supervisor.
- Carry out first-line maintenance within the working zones and ensure that routine sampling and lube/seal oil reservoirs for equipment are maintained in good order.
- Carry out interlock system reviews and update the logbook accordingly.
- Ensure the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of chemical injection pumps.
- Provide technical input on sludge remediation and other waste-handling techniques.
- Provide technical input on all water treatment aspects of produced water, injection water, and effluent water projects.
Requirements
- High School Certificate, HNC (BTS), or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of operational experience in hydrocarbon processing and operations, or within the oil and gas industry generally.
- Multidisciplinary technical experience with a sound technical foundation.
- Fluent in French with a basic knowledge of English.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
