Operations Relief Controller 

Join Our Team 

We are looking for a passionate, organised and people-focused Operations Relief Controller to join our Guernsey depot.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has previous experience working in a public transport control team.

You’ll be self-motivated and enthusiastic to deliver efficient and punctual services of the highest possible standards for our customers. You’ll work well independently and
also as part of a team and able to resolve difficult situations in a helpful, friendly and polite manner.

The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for learning and development. 

As this is a relief controller position the candidate must have a PSV licence and the ability to drive a PSV in guernsey, as it will be a mixture of bus driving and operations controller.

Hourly rate will be paid at PSV driver rate until undertaking the operations controller position where an hourly uplift will apply.  

What You'll Do 

As a Operations Relief Controller, you'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting a wide range of training and development activities, including: 

• Assisting and working closely with the depot contracts manager, Assistant Operations manager, controllers and engineers to enable a smooth operation of the business

• Updating EP Morris to ensure accurate records are maintained. 

• Building strong relationships with depot management team
• Plan drivers schedule and allocate resources effectively. 

• Taking meeting minutes and supporting the wider Operations team as required. 

• Covering driver duties and sickness.
• Covering vehicle breakdowns and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Covering emergency road closures and diversions,
• Ensuring all accident reports are filled out
• Communicating with customers.
• Ensuring legal compliance for driving hours

• Full Cat D Licence (PSV licence) 

Desirable Experience 

• Experience in an operational or transport environment. 

• Experience in DAS Trapeze driver hours monitoring system  
• Experience conducting investigations and preparing formal reports. 

• Knowledge of domestic driving hours

• Experience in People management and formal process’
