Role Purpose
Operations Manager for Tulsa you run Manna's operation in the metro. Ten bases to start, growing to twenty, seven days a week. You own how they perform every day: uptime, order fulfilment, safety on the ground and cost.
You take a critical, data-led approach, continuously questioning how the operation is set up so the team stays efficient as we scale. You are responsible for the ground operation meeting our Operations Manual and the standards required by our Part 135 partner.
You are a strong people manager. You lead a team of Area Supervisors and an Operations Coordinator and, through them, the shift leads and ground crews at every base in the metro. That is the single largest team in our US business.
Requirements
What You'll Do
- Own daily performance across every Tulsa base: uptime, order fulfilment, cancellations, safety and turnaround.
- Ensure the ground operation meets our Operations Manual and the standards required by our Part 135 partner.
- Manage the Area Supervisors and Operations Coordinator, including recruitment, performance, development and succession.
- Own recruitment, onboarding, training and retention of a large part-time ground crew across the metro, with a continuous pipeline rather than one-off campaigns.
- Own the shift lead programme: identifying crew ready to step up, training them and holding the standard. Strong shift leads are what allow one supervisor to cover five bases.
- Own rostering and scheduling across every base, seven days a week, including leave, absence and the on-call rota, run as one system for the metro rather than each area doing its own.
- Build a culture where crews turn up, take the work seriously and want to stay.
- Bring new bases live, working with the deployment and site delivery teams from handover to first flight, and structure and staff each new area as it opens.
- Own the day-to-day operational relationship with our Part 135 partner, holding aircraft availability and turnaround times and escalating when they slip.
- Own the operating cost of the metro, including cost per delivery, and hold Area Supervisors accountable for their areas.
- Monitor operational and safety metrics, investigate what's behind them and drive the fixes.
- Structure the team so we can add bases without redesigning how the metro runs.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years running multi-site operations, including managing managers or supervisors.
- Proven experience managing a large hourly or part-time workforce across multiple locations: rostering, seven-day coverage, turnover, absence and no-shows. Quick-service restaurants, retail, logistics depots, last-mile delivery or similar.
- A track record of developing frontline staff into supervisory roles, not just hiring into them.
- Experience opening new sites and bringing them into live operation.
- Comfortable being accountable when a site doesn't open on time, and quick to find out why.
- A proactive, data-led leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Based in Tulsa or able to relocate quickly, with willingness to travel to other US markets.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather during site visits, to stand, walk and bend on site, and to safely operate company vehicles.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background screening.
Preferred: degree or equivalent in a relevant field; experience with robotics, aviation or other safety-critical regulated technologies; experience in an FAA Part 135 or similarly regulated environment.
