Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
- Perform occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and clinical needs
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist residents in regaining independence and maximizing functional abilities
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and adaptive techniques
- Recommend and train residents on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy team members, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility, state, and federal requirements
- Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Participate in care conferences and discharge planning
Qualifications
Required
- Active and unrestricted California Occupational Therapist (OT) License
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, or Long-Term Care
- Knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, and rehabilitation documentation practices
