Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and clinical needs
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Assist residents in regaining independence and maximizing functional abilities
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and adaptive techniques
  • Recommend and train residents on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy team members, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility, state, and federal requirements
  • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
  • Participate in care conferences and discharge planning

Qualifications

Required

  • Active and unrestricted California Occupational Therapist (OT) License
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred

  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, or Long-Term Care
  • Knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, and rehabilitation documentation practices
