3 South Surgical Unit is a dynamic, fast-paced unit that provides comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical, cardiac, vascular, and post-operative needs. Our team specializes in caring for patients with acute cardiac conditions, complex medication management, and cardiovascular procedure recovery. Staff develop advanced clinical skills through the care of a diverse patient population requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring. Team members utilize a multidisciplinary approach to deliver high quality; patient-centered care focused on stabilization, treatment, recovery, and education.
The Patient Flow Coordinator is an entry-level leadership role responsible for coordinating safe and efficient patient flow through the Emergency Department. This role oversees patient care activities, delegates workload, addresses delays, and collaborates with medical staff and other departments to ensure timely, high-quality care while serving as a role model for teamwork, leadership, and professionalism.
Job Description:
Coordinates and expedites patient flow through evaluation, treatment, admission, discharge, and transfer.
Monitors patient flow identifies delays and barriers and collaborates with leadership to adjust staffing and patient movement.
Provides and oversees safe, evidence-based nursing care, including patient assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation.
Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor while supporting staff education and professional development.
Assists with daily unit operations, patient safety, and resolution of care concerns.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and participates in performance and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention, safety standards, and emergency preparedness requirements.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current RN licensure
Three (3) years of clinical management experience preferred.
Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit
