As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of your assigned department, fostering a culture of safety and accountability, developing and mentoring staff, and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes. Successful candidates are collaborative leaders who communicate with influence, build trust across teams, and align departmental goals with the mission and vision of Mary Washington Healthcare.Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking experienced Nurse Leaders to join our team. We currently have Nurse Manager opportunities across several service lines, including:
- Medical Care
- Comprehensive Medical
- Oncology
- Surgical Intermediate Care
- Labor & Delivery
These leadership positions provide the opportunity to influence patient care, develop high-performing teams, and partner with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to advance clinical excellence and operational success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school required
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Current RN license in Virginia or a compact state required
- AHA BLS Provider certification required at hire
- Professional Nursing Leadership Certification (ANCC or AONL) preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing management experience required
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with electronic health records and healthcare technology systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, and organizational leaders
- Ability to drive team performance and align individual contributions with organizational goals
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and the Mission, Vision, and Values of Mary Washington Healthcare
Unit Specific:
- Medical Care: NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Comprehensive Medical: NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Surgical Intermediate Care: NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Labor & Delivery: AHA ACLS Provider certification required at hire.
- Oncology: No additional unit-specific certification requirements beyond the core qualifications.

Required
Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination; ability to work in confined spaces; ability to reach above/overhead.
Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
*Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice must also meet driving requirements.

Compensation Pay Range:
$58.26 - $87.40
