Job Duties:
- Conduct survey and detection activities for noxious weeds.
- Conduct seed inspections, complaint inspections, and follow-up.
- Conduct noxious weed inspections, complaint inspections and follow-up.
- Evaluate county weed control programs and review annual reports.
- Conduct education and outreach activities with county weed superintendents, agricultural industries, the general public, and special interest groups.
- Attend local county board meetings.
- All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework/training in agriculture, plant/animal or natural sciences, or other program related field OR a vocation certificate in electrical, mechanical, engineering or other program related field. AND Two years’ experience working in a relevant discipline.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in conducting regulatory inspections and working with the public.
Other: This position requires travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with optional flex schedule
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some overnight travel expected. Able to use computer and smart phone devices. Plant science, plant identification, or agronomy experience is preferred.
