Organisational Context:

ING is evolving its organisation for non-financial risk, control and resilience activities to create clearer accountability, stronger ownership and a more scalable operating model. The NFR Expert will contribute to effective risk and control management by providing expertise, analysis and practical support across activities that may develop as the future organisation and service scope are further defined.

We are looking for a pragmatic and experienced risk professional who can work independently in a complex international environment, translate requirements into workable solutions and help strengthen the quality, consistency and effectiveness of non-financial risk management.

What you will do:

As an NFR Expert, you will contribute to risk and control activities across an international stakeholder landscape. The precise portfolio may evolve as the future organisation and service scope are further defined. Your key responsibilities include:

• Risk and control management: take ownership of assigned activities, apply relevant procedures and support the identification, assessment, monitoring and mitigation of non-financial risks.

• Policy and methodology implementation: interpret policies, standards and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical processes, guidance and ways of working.

• Analysis and management information: collect and analyse information from multiple sources, identify key themes and impacts, and prepare clear insights and reporting for relevant stakeholders.

• Advisory support: provide authoritative specialist advice to senior stakeholders on risk, control, policy implementation, change initiatives and operational improvements.

• Quality and continuous improvement: assess existing practices, recommend improvements and support the implementation of solutions that strengthen quality, consistency, efficiency and compliance.

• Stakeholder collaboration: build effective partnerships across business, risk and control functions and contribute to alignment, knowledge sharing and effective decision-making.

• Change delivery: contribute to complex initiatives, evaluate possible solutions and help translate strategic priorities into achievable actions and outcomes.

• Capability building: share expertise, provide guidance and informal coaching, and help strengthen risk and control capabilities across the organisation. 

Who are we looking for?

What you will bring:

• A master’s degree or an equivalent level of education.

• Substantial professional experience, typically more than six years, including comprehensive experience in non-financial risk, business control, compliance, resilience, consulting, transformation or a related field.

• Recognised expertise in risk management techniques and strong knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Proven ability to identify, assess, prioritise and manage risks and issues in complex business environments.

• Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to use data from multiple sources to identify trends, impacts and practical recommendations.

• Experience interpreting and implementing policies, standards or frameworks and contributing to complex change or improvement initiatives.

• Strong stakeholder-management, influencing, verbal communication and reporting skills, including experience advising senior stakeholders.

• Ability to provide guidance or informal coaching to colleagues; experience supervising more junior colleagues is an advantage.

• Excellent command of English.

Wage (gross) 4 293 EUR/month

*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
