Based on contributions to a New School publication, participation in this year's iteration of New School New Books, the annual reading series fourth edition on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Wollman Hall. 

New School New Books was introduced by the VLC in 2023 and most recently convened this past March, to celebrate recent publications by university centers, faculty, and students. The 2026 edition comes together with a slightly different focus—highlighting various publishing platforms and periodicals directed by TNS faculty, students, and staff. We are choosing "periodicals" as a curatorial frame to respond to the setting: Wollman Hall will feature a new installation of 16 prints by legendary artist Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) that focus on and incorporate references to "the news." Offering an apt prompt for the current moment, these prints are part of The New School Art Collection.

The gathering will showcase the rich body of print and digital newspapers, journals, magazines, and other periodicals published by members of the university community. We invite representatives from these publications to join us for a series of informal, conversational panels throughout the day on the urgent need for journalism and how on-campus publishing platforms can offer timely, in-depth responses to some of the most socially, institutionally and politically pressing issues we face today.

Represent your journal as a knowledgeable contributor, offering insight into its role within campus publishing and broader public discourse. Participate actively in panel discussions, contributing thoughtful perspectives on journalism and responding to audience or moderator questions. Collaborate with event organizers and fellow presenters to ensure smooth timing, coordination, and flow of the program. Engage professionally with attendees and remain present throughout the event to support its collaborative and conversational format.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled at TNS and on staff/contributor/editor at one of the journals  or publications that were solicited for participation.

Hourly Rate: $20/hr
