À propos de ce poste Network Cabling Project Manager chez Sage

Sage · Télétravail · Remote

The first baby boomers turn 80 this year. Over the next decade, the population most likely to need daily care will grow faster than the buildings, the staff, or the systems available to serve it.

Sage is the care intelligence platform for senior living and skilled nursing. We connect the hardware senior care runs on, including nurse call, fall management, and wander management, with software caregivers actually use. That consistent use is what produces reliable data, and reliable data is what gives operators a true picture of how their communities are running.

Sage is a collaborative team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs on a mission to reinvent senior care with a modern operating system for caregivers. Millions of people depend on this care getting better, and we move with the urgency that deserves.

About This Role

As a Network Cabling Project Manager at Sage, you will oversee and manage the planning, installation, and maintenance of network cabling systems. Leveraging your deep understanding of network infrastructure, cabling best practices, and strong project management skills, you will lead external team(s) of contractors. Your goal will be to ensure that all network cabling projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

This is a heavily traveled, client-facing role. Network Cabling Project Managers travel an average of 15 business days per month. During periods of high customer onboarding activity, this number can go higher. Candidates should go into this process with a clear, realistic expectation of that schedule. This isn't occasional travel; it's the core rhythm of the job.

Some examples of the work you'll be doing on any given day include:

  1. Project Planning & Management:
    1. Oversee end-to-end management of network cabling projects, including initial planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    2. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT departments, engineers, and vendors, to define project scope and requirements.
    3. Develop detailed project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring clear communication of expectations to all parties involved.
    4. Travel to various communities (domestic)
  2. Cabling Design & Implementation:
Lead the design and implementation of network cabling layouts, ensuring adherence to industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA-568, ANSI/BICSI standards).
    1. Conduct site surveys to assess environmental factors and provide recommendations for optimal cabling designs.
    2. Manage the installation, termination, and testing of various types of cabling (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics).
  3. Team Leadership & Coordination:
    1. Manage and coordinate on-site teams of cabling technicians and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
    2. Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to team members, promoting best practices in cabling installation and troubleshooting.
  4. Quality Control & Compliance:
    1. Ensure all work meets regulatory and industry compliance standards, including local codes and safety regulations.
    2. Oversee the testing and certification of completed cabling systems, ensuring that performance meets network requirements (e.g., signal integrity, data transmission rates).
  5. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
    1. Identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that arise during the cabling installation process, providing timely solutions to avoid delays.
    2. Manage and address any post-installation problems or service requests related to cabling infrastructure.
  6. Vendor & Client Relations:
    1. Work closely with third-party vendors and suppliers to procure materials, tools, and equipment for cabling projects.
    2. Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or changes in scope.
  7. Documentation & Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate records of all project-related activities, including design diagrams, work orders, and change orders.
    2. Prepare regular project progress reports and ensure all documentation is up-to-date for future reference or audits.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel and perform cabling work over 75% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

À propos de Sage

Sage is on a mission to improve the quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among adults over 65. At the same time, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. This issue is exacerbated by the inefficient procedures that operators of these facilities are forced to use to provide care to their residents.  Sage's integrated software aims to reinvent how we care for and respond to older adults in times of need.  We aim to build a platform that gives caregivers the means to provide care for modern aging.

Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters. We know when to slow down, take breaks, and have fun.

We're always looking for great talent to join our team. Check out our job openings below, and drop us a line if you're interested!
