Multi Skilled Operative

Location: Thanet

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 42.5 Hours Per Week

Salary: £17.56 per hour, Company Van and fuel card provided.

Mears is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in Thanet, carrying out a range of repairs and maintenance tasks across residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operative with strong multi-trade skills who takes pride in delivering high quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

About the role:

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will carry out a range of maintenance, repair and refurbishment works within domestic properties. The role will primarily focus on void properties, with some responsive repair work as required. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a wider team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Working across void and responsive maintenance works, you will be responsible for completing a variety of repairs to ensure homes are safe, functional and maintained to a high standard. The role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to make a real difference to our customers and communities.

Duties:

• Carpentry works
• Floor laying
• Wall and floor tiling
• Painting and decorating
• Basic plumbing repairs and installations
• Completing void property refurbishments
• Undertaking responsive maintenance tasks
• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety requirements

Key Criteria:

• Experience working on void properties
• Multi-trade experience including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, decorating and floor laying
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Experience carrying out responsive maintenance works
• Ability to supply own trade tools including drills, tiling cutter and hand tools

Desirable:

• Plumbing and carpentry qualifications desirable
