Job Title: Driver
Location: Canterbury
Summary of Role
We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Driver to support the safe, secure, and timely transportation of products and medical samples. This role is responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed in line with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Complete collection and delivery activities in line with scheduled routes and service requirements.
- Verify shipment details and obtain required signatures or proof of delivery documentation.
- Transport products, materials, and medical samples safely and securely.
- Adhere to temperature control requirements and transportation regulations where applicable.
- Communicate delivery progress, delays, and shipment exceptions promptly.
- Support loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities to ensure shipment readiness.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and report maintenance issues as required.
- Assist with specialised transport activities, including transfer-point, airport, hand-to-hand, and adjusted schedule assignments.
Skills and Knowledge
- Full valid driving licence with a safe driving record.
- Previous experience in a driving, transport, or logistics role.
- Good understanding of delivery procedures and transport documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipments and records.
- Ability to follow operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic IT skills for completing records and status updates.
Desirable
- Experience transporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
- Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation requirements.
- Familiarity with route planning and logistics systems.
- Experience handling time-sensitive or regulated shipments.
- Understanding of proof-of-delivery and compliance processes.
- Experience supporting airport or specialist transport services.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a logistics environment.
- Additional driving or transport-related qualifications.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.What Cencora offers
