Summary of Role
We are seeking a dependable and professional Driver to join our logistics team. This role is responsible for the safe and timely collection, transportation, and delivery of products and medical samples while ensuring compliance with operational procedures, transport regulations, and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete collection and delivery activities in line with agreed schedules and service requirements.
- Verify shipment information and obtain required proof of delivery documentation.
- Safely transport materials, products, and medical samples in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure temperature-controlled shipments are handled appropriately where required.
- Communicate delivery progress, delays, and shipment exceptions to relevant teams.
- Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities to maintain shipment integrity.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support specialised transport services, including transfer-point, airport, hand-to-hand, and adjusted schedule assignments.
Skills and Knowledge
- Full UK driving licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Previous experience in a driving, courier, or logistics environment.
- Good understanding of transport documentation and delivery procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards within a transport environment.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and completing operational updates.
Desirable
- Experience transporting pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical products.
- Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation practices.
- Familiarity with logistics, route planning, or delivery management systems.
- Experience handling regulated or time-critical shipments.
- Understanding of proof-of-delivery and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience supporting specialist transport services.
- Additional driving or transport-related qualifications.
- Knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.What Cencora offers
