Introduction to Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS)

The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is at the core of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS leverages BlackRock’s full spectrum of index, factor, and alpha-seeking capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and differentiated alpha insights. The team manages over $1 trillion in assets across commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions for wealth and institutional clients globally. Position Overview

BlackRock’s Models Infrastructure team is at the heart of evolving the model’s platform and elevating the client experience through strong governance and
cross-functional leadership on behalf of the investment teams in MASS. As the Models business continues to grow, we’re expanding to meet increasing
demand and accelerate key initiatives.
As an Associate, you will join a business team and contribute hands-on to technology enabled solutions that support the Models platform. You will work closely with partners across Investment, Infrastructure, and Technology teams to understand business use cases, requirements, and operating needs, translating them into robust, production ready solutions. Your work will focus on automating processes, improving data access and distribution, supporting releases and ongoing maintenance, and ensuring the stability and scalability of the models ecosystem within established governance and control frameworks.
This role provides exposure to client and product information and the Aladdin 
environment, with opportunities to influence platform scalability, automation, and engineering best practices as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Model Portfolio Platform

• Lead strategic initiatives involving technology delivery that strengthen and evolve the investment operating platform within MASS, driving innovation and scalability.

• Administer monitoring protocols to independently assess infrastructure resilience across platform domains.

• Represent MASS in cross-functional teams supporting platform enablement activities.

• Gather and analyze business requirements to improve processes and systems with a focus on usability for Strategists and Portfolio Managers.

• Triage and resolve production issues, manage partner concerns, and maintain clear runbooks for owned activities.

Business Analysis and Technical Design

• Develop and maintain strategic tools for Models Enablement.

• Develop and maintain scripts and tools supporting end-to-end models data workflows.

• Own and maintain model data gathering and distribution to stakeholders.

• Support and execute end-to-end UAT testing to ensure successful production operations across release cycles.

Qualifications

• Computer Science degree/B.E/B.Tech, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in asset management or financial services, with exposure to multiple 

• asset classes.

• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong interest in learning and leveraging Aladdin; prior experience is a plus.

Skills & Technical Requirements

• 3-7 years of relevant experience (Python + React)

• Strong hands-on development experience in Python, Streamlit, and Flask is required

• Strong hands-on experience with React and a solid understanding of API design; familiarity with Protocol Buffers is strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of AI tools, AI-assisted development practices, and practical implementation of AI-enabled solutions is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, Python-based ML workflows, and AI-driven implementations is preferred.

• Demonstrated curiosity and a strong inclination toward learning and adopting new technologies.

• Project and program management skills—including planning, coordination across teams, and delivery execution—are strongly preferred

Our hybrid work model
