About the Role
We’re looking for a Member of Technical Staff to help build and scale our core mobile experience on Android. You’ll play a critical role in developing high-performance, real-time features for a rapidly growing user base.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, cares deeply about product quality, and has experience shipping and scaling native Android applications used by millions.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin.
Own features end-to-end, from technical design through implementation, testing, and release.
Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across a wide range of Android devices.
Contribute to architectural decisions and establish best practices for Android development.
Identify and proactively solve technical challenges before they impact users or development velocity.
Participate in code reviews and mentor engineers to elevate overall team quality.
Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of professional Android development experience.
Proven track record of shipping multiple native Android applications to the Google Play Store.
Experience building and scaling large-scale applications supporting millions of users.
Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack, Compose, and the Android SDK.
Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.).
Experience with modern networking stacks (GraphQL, gRPC, and REST) and building real-time features on streaming transports (WebRTC, WebSockets, LiveKit, and Agora).
Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with high ownership.
Nice to Have:
Experience with iOS development (Swift) and cross-platform considerations.
Familiarity with real-time, interactive, or live-streaming products.
Familiarity with Android-native Material Design components.
Fluency with AI development tools like Claude, Cursor, etc.
Salary & Benefits
Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 base + equity.
