MediCard is currently looking for assertive, dynamic and energetic individuals to fill up the following vacancy:

To perform accurate and timely laboratory diagnostic procedures in support of patient care, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role also supports clinic operations through proper documentation, equipment upkeep, and limited administrative functions such as HMO benefit screening to ensure appropriate test utilization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform laboratory diagnostic procedures (30%) Conduct blood extraction, drug testing, and other routine and specialized laboratory procedures in accordance with physician requests and service packages.
2. Ensure proper patient and specimen identification (10%) Verify patient identity, laboratory requests, and specimen labeling to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
3. Process and analyze laboratory specimens (15%) Handle, prepare, and analyze specimens following standard protocols to maintain integrity and reliability of test results.
4. Ensure accuracy and quality of laboratory results (10%) Perform internal quality control procedures and participate in external quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of accuracy.
5. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (10%) Ensure proper use, routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment to support uninterrupted operations.
6. Document and release laboratory results (5%) Accurately encode, validate, and release results in a timely manner in accordance with reporting standards.
7. Monitor laboratory inventory and supplies (5%) Track usage and maintain adequate levels of reagents and consumables to avoid service interruptions.
8. Provide administrative and HMO screening support (5%) Verify patient eligibility and screen laboratory requests based on HMO benefit coverage guidelines prior to test availment.
9. Prepare reports and provide operational support (10%) Generate required reports and assist in clinic operations, including participation in offsite activities such as on-site laboratory services as assigned.

1. Financial Measures:
· Accuracy of HMO benefit screening reducing claim denials
· Efficient utilization of laboratory reagents and supplies
· Minimization of test repeat rates due to errors

2. Non-Financial Measures:
· Accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
· Turnaround time for laboratory tests
· Compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
· Patient satisfaction related to laboratory services
· Accuracy of documentation and reporting
· Equipment functionality and uptime
· Adherence to safety and infection control protocols

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology / Medical Laboratory Science
• License: Professional Regulation Commission registered
Experience: · At least 1–2 years laboratory experience preferred
• Skills and Competencies:
· Strong laboratory and analytical skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Knowledge of lab equipment and processes
· Time management and efficiency
· Certification or training as Drug Test Analyst (DTA) preferred
· Certified HIV Counselor preferred, in accordance with DOH guidelines · Trained Biosafety Officer or with formal biosafety training preferred
· Knowledge of laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
· Proficiency in laboratory information systems and MS Office applications
