About the Role

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is responsible for maintaining deep expertise in the assigned therapeutic area and staying current on major clinical studies, product information, competitor therapies, and relevant pipeline developments. This knowledge enables the MSL to provide balanced, evidence-based scientific information to Scientific Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and the broader healthcare community, ultimately supporting improved patient outcomes.

The MSL is a field-based medical professional whose primary responsibility is to engage in non-promotional, peer-to-peer scientific exchange and provide medical and scientific information to Scientific Leaders and Key Decision Makers. These interactions are driven by stakeholders' professional interests and needs and are grounded in the principles of scientific exchange.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Engage in non-promotional peer-to-peer exchange of medical and scientific information with Scientific Leaders or Key Decision Makers to the extent permitted by law and local regulation, local industry codes, and other provisions of the Guiding Principles for Ex-US Oncology Global Medical Affairs External Stakeholder-Facing Activities.
-Gain deep insights on disease, therapeutic area, and healthcare needs, data gaps and opportunities within the assigned geography.
-Represent Medical Affairs at local and regional non-promotional medical events, including congresses and scientific symposia, and contribute to the development of pre-event scientific materials and post-event scientific summaries.
-Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, pipeline or marketed product information or indications from Scientific Leaders or Key Decision Makers utilizing appropriate approved scientific resources.
-Address one-to-one unsolicited inquiries regarding company-sponsored research and grant opportunities by directing stakeholders to the appropriate company resources, including grants, sponsored clinical trials, the Investigator Study Program (MISP), and outcomes research initiatives. 
-On a reactive basis, share publicly available Areas of Interest with Scientific Leaders and guide them to the website for additional information.
-Participate in Scientific Advisory Board Meetings or Expert Input Forums when designated to do so.
-Provide medical/scientific support, including written documentation and/or verbal interactions for Health Technology Assessments and formulary decisions. Such support is provided in accordance with the principles of scientific exchange outlined in the Guiding Principles for Ex-US Global Medical Affairs and Oncology Global Medical Affairs External Stakeholder-Facing Activities.

Requirements:

-Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Pharmacy, or an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Life Sciences, including Medical Sciences, or related disciplines, in accordance with applicable local regulations. Candidates must meet all applicable professional licensing and registration requirements in Panama.  
-Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience working as a Medical Scientific Liaison or in the Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance areas in a Pharmaceutical Industry or Clinical Research Organization (CRO); 
-Experience in the Oncology therapeutic area is highly preferred;
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish;
-Clinical knowledge/experience is preferred;
-Strong scientific baseline knowledge, clinical trial methods, implementation and data interpretation, sound scientific and clinical judgment, and eagerness to continue to learn more;
-Ability to present scientific and other technical information with self-assurance, in a way that engenders trust and credibility;
-Excellent communication skills across a variety of internal and external audiences including listening skills and probing skills;
-Strong collaboration skills and ability to function within a team environment;
-Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time;
-Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision; stronlgly recommended communicactional skills,
-Availability to work based in Panama.
