Job Summary
This position is full time, on-site at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital/MGB in Dover, NH.
Summary: Supervises dosimetrists and radiation therapists in treatment planning and devises methods to apply laws and theories of physics to radiation medicine.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes
Essential Functions: 3-D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT treatment planning and general medical physics support.
-General medical physics support will include, but is not limited to, regular clinical physics coverage, participation in commissioning, upgrade, repair, acceptance testing, monthly and annual QA of treatment equipment.
-Clinical trouble shooting, initial and weekly chart checks, treatment planning consultation and other routine clinical physics responsibilities.
-Participate in developmental efforts on various clinical physics projects and collaborate with the main campus and other satellite facilities.
-Assist with generating proper records and correspondence pertaining to quality control and quality assurance, calibration, radiation safety and compliance with state and Federal regulations and standards of accrediting bodies.
-Actively participate in patient chart checks (initial, continuing, and final) and treatment plan reviews, image fusion, dose calculation verifications, and special physics consultations as requested by physicians.
-Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments.

Master's Degree Medical Physics required or Doctorate Medical Physics required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Clinical experience 2-3 years required and Experience in treatment planning and planning systems, particularly RayStation 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- An understanding of radiation physics, anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, and radiation safety.
- Knowledgeable in health care informatics-including the resources, devices and methods to acquire, store and retrieve data.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information with patients, family members, and the radiation oncology treatment team as well as outside entities.
- Good basic computer skills.
