Job Summary

• Performs electronics, electrical and mechanical repairs/corrective maintenance of specialized physiological, and life support equipment in a timely and quality manner to assure equipment readiness for department use.  Coordinates repairs with vendor as needed.

• Routinely provides advice and assistance in completing the most difficult assignments, interacts regularly with other technicians and skilled trades, employees, contractors and members of hospital administration.

• Performs scheduled maintenance on all types of specialized medical equipment and systems. Adherence to scheduled maintenance schedule to allow for optimum use and dependability of equipment by employees and medical staff in a safe environment for patients.

• Uses tools and equipment appropriately.  Knows when and how to use tools and equipment to perform the job in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

• Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.

• Adheres to all safety policies, procedures and practices, including the wearing of protective clothing and gear.

• Models the behaviors embodied in the Essence of GHS.  As a member of GHS, takes responsibility for constructively confronting and resolving problems.

• Participates in open communication and teamwork activities.

• Delivers on commitments in a high quality and timely fashion.

• Demonstrates pride in the organization.

• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (Technical Diploma) or 2 years college course work in the electro-mechanical field required

• 1-2 years of job related experience in commercial industry

• Healthcare experience preferred.
