Our Wound Healing & Limb Preservation team offers hands‑on, specialty experience where medical assistants play a central role in patient care and collaborate closely with providers and nurses. You’ll build lasting relationships with patients as you guide them from initial treatment through healing, using cutting‑edge therapies that truly change quality of life. With locations across West Michigan and the greatest need in Grand Rapids, this role is ideal for both new and experienced medical assistants ready for a meaningful, fast‑paced specialty.

About Outpatient Clinics 

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. 

Scope of work  

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications  

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required

• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred

• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days

  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)

  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
