SMX is seeking a Journeyman MBSE Systems Engineer for the Model-Based Systems Engineering Division to provide support at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret (minimum), TS/SCI desired
- US Citizenship is required for work on DoW contract
- Must have a have a Technical BS or BA degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years recent and relevant Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technology.
- Experience using MBSE Tools, such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator.
- Familiarity with interface definition practices and verification fundamentals
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, review-driven environment with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with MBSE practices.
- Expertise in building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using modeling methodologies to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.
- Experience with systems engineering analyses and using the results with other engineering models to draw conclusions and optimize performance, schedule, timing, costs, etc.
- Experience with how system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle).
- Requires experience with systems engineering and of model-based methodologies.
- Experience with the use of modeling languages and frameworks such as UML, SysML, and UAF.
