À propos de ce poste Master Thesis - Loudspeaker Characterization For Public Venues chez Axis Communications
Job Title
Job Description
Category
DSP and Acoustic
Scope
2 students completing 30/60 credits (20/40 weeks) each.
Background
Spinorama measurements describe a loudspeaker’s frequency response and sound radiation across different angles. They are commonly used for cabinet speakers in domestic listening environments, but public indoor and outdoor venues often use other loudspeaker types and installation setups. This thesis will explore how measurement methods can be adapted to evaluate these systems and their performance in real applications.
Goal
The objectives below are suggestions rather than strict requirements. We will decide together which objectives to focus on and whether to adjust them to fit your interests and the direction of the thesis.
- Review existing measurement methods, including Spinorama, and assess their suitability for loudspeakers used in public venues, such as ceiling speakers, column speakers and distributed systems.
- Investigate how installation, venue acoustics, audience coverage, and indoor or outdoor conditions affect measurement results.
- Develop or evaluate curves and metrics that describe application-specific performance, such as frequency-response consistency and coverage across audience areas.
- Measure and/or simulate selected configurations, compare conventional and proposed methods, and recommend approaches to support the acoustic and signal-processing design of future Axis Communications products.
Who are you?
For this Thesis proposal we target students with a strong interest in acoustics and digital signal processing of audio signals. Most likely you are studying a Master Program in Signal Processing, Acoustics or Engineering Physics.
