About The Role
As we continue to invest in the future of our marine operations at Horizontal Falls, we are creating opportunities for people who are passionate about building a career on the water. Our marine team delivers exceptional guest experiences while operating in one of Australia’s most spectacular and remote locations.
This is more than just a job on the water. It’s an opportunity to build a long-term marine career with Australia’s leading experiential tourism business. Whether you’re looking for your first role as a Deckhand, already hold marine qualifications, or are ready to take the next step towards becoming a Vessel Master, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re seeking motivated individuals to join our marine team and grow with us through structured training, mentoring and career development pathways. You’ll be supported by experienced marine professionals and provided with development opportunities to gain skills and qualifications such as COST, Coxswain and/or Master 5. With progression pathways into Vessel Master or Marine Engineer, leadership and management roles, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a unique operational environment while living and working just metres from the iconic Horizontal Falls. Accommodation and meals are provided while on roster.
In addition to developing your marine capabilities, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Indigenous tourism and the cultural significance of the Horizontal Falls region. Through our connection with the Dambeemangaddee People, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the stories, culture and sense of place that makes this destination unlike anywhere else in Australia.
Positions will commence in early 2027.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. You’ll be a strong communicator with a positive attitude, have a willingness to learn and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues. A commitment to safety, professionalism and supporting your team will be at the core of everything you do, along with a high standard of personal presentation and a strong work ethic.
While marine qualifications and experience are highly valued, they aren’t the only things we are looking for. We believe great marine professionals are built through experience, training and the right attitude, so we’re seeking individuals with the commitment, potential and drive to build a long-term career with us.
