Job Description

General Responsibilities

• Drive improved product quality, capacity, and productivity by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production of new methods, processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Work closely and collaboratively with design engineering, other manufacturing sites, as well as central AME teams including to deliver best practices and solutions to the factory.

 

Manufacturing Process Technology

• Implement improvements to plant magnet manufacturing process with winding, weld, cryostat, cool down and material handling practices and technologies into new and existing products.  Seek out best practices at trade shows and benchmarking other sites.
• Work to implement improvements in magnet manufacturing and test, achieving high pass yield by optimizing the manufacturing and assembly process and optimizing equipment and process flow.

Lean/Six Sigma

• Strive to be a leader of Six Sigma methodologies and leverage data driven approaches to improve productivity and implement robust process controls to improve reliability and reduce defects
• Conducts statistical studies to analyze and reduce the variation present manufacturing processes through Six Sigma, GR&R, and DOE’s.
• Ensure early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs.  Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, process qualification, tooling and equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution to maximize yield, streamline process flow, and increase efficiencies.

  

Qualifications :

1. B.S. Degree in Electromechanical Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years’ experience

2. Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills

3. Strong Six Sigma Expertise

4. Strong Lean Expertise

5. Strong Manufacturing Process Equipment expertise

6. Ability to work independently

7. Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization Ability to identify and implement Best Practices and new technologies

 

Characteristics :

1. Prior work with magnet or complex equipment manufacturing

2. Demonstrated program or project management skills

3. Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality

4. 4. Experience working with global teams
