What you will do

In this vital role, the Manager, Incentive Compensation Administration will lead the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of field incentive compensation plans and compensation cycles. The role will oversee end-to-end IC operations, including data and eligibility validation, crediting and calculation review, payment readiness, reconciliations, exception management, reporting, and post-payment validation, while ensuring strong quality controls and adherence to approved plan rules and processes.

The Manager will lead and develop a team of IC professionals, providing day-to-day direction, prioritizing work, reviewing deliverables, resolving complex operational issues, and driving accountability for quality and timelines. The role will serve as a key escalation point for IC administration issues and will identify opportunities to strengthen controls, simplify processes, improve data quality, and increase operational efficiency and scalability.

This position reports to a Senior Manager within Field Excellence and partners closely with onshore business stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Incentive Compensation, Field Effectiveness, data management, analytics, technology, and other supporting functions. The role will also coordinate IC administration projects and key business events—including new plan implementation, annual planning cycles, field realignments, product launches, mid-cycle changes, and platform enhancements—while maintaining strong governance, documentation, audit readiness, and clear stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

IC Operations and Delivery Management

• Manage the accurate and timely administration of assigned field incentive compensation (IC) plans and compensation cycles, in accordance with approved plan rules, established processes, and business timelines.
• Oversee day-to-day execution across data intake, eligibility validation, crediting, calculation review, payment-file preparation, payout coordination, reconciliations, exception management, reporting, and post-payment validation.
• Review team deliverables and quality-control results to ensure data accuracy, payment readiness, process adherence, and timely resolution of issues.
• Monitor payout trends, processing timelines, data-quality issues, field inquiries, and potential outliers; escalate material risks and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• Support the operational implementation of new IC plans, realignments, product launches, mid-cycle changes, annual planning cycles, and system enhancements.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of IC professionals, including direct and/or indirect reports; provide guidance on priorities, technical questions, problem resolution, and quality expectations.
• Allocate work, track team capacity and deliverables, and ensure activities are completed within agreed timelines and service-level expectations.
• Provide performance feedback and support team members’ development in IC processes, data analysis, platform usage, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and detail-oriented working environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Act as an escalation point for complex data issues, calculation questions, field inquiries, and operational challenges.

Governance, Documentation, and Process Improvement

• Adherence to IC processes, internal controls, legal guidance, privacy requirements, applicable industry regulations, and audit-readiness standards.
• Creation, maintenance, and periodic review of SOPs, QC checklists, business-rule documents, process flows, exception logs, approvals, and records of critical discussions and decisions.
• Identify recurring process gaps, control risks, data-quality concerns, and manual effort; lead practical improvements to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
• Support testing of IC platform enhancements, reports, automation opportunities, and process changes; ensure appropriate documentation and implementation readiness.
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, documentation quality, and data integrity across IC activities.

Stakeholder and Project Coordination

• Partner with onshore business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, to clarify requirements, provide status updates, resolve issues, and align on timelines.
• Manage assigned IC administration projects and workstreams using Planner or other project-management tools; track milestones, dependencies, risks, action items, and delivery status.
• Communicate operational updates, key issues, and plan-administration insights clearly to internal stakeholders and leadership.
• Support the Senior Manager or functional lead in preparing operational reports, project updates, and materials for key stakeholder discussions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of experience in incentive compensation administration, sales operations, compensation operations, commercial operations, finance operations, analytics, or a related field.
• Experience leading projects, workstreams, or junior team members in a deadline-driven operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant bio/pharmaceutical, healthcare, consulting, or commercial operations experience.
• Demonstrated experience in field IC administration, including plan implementation, eligibility, crediting, calculation validation, payment processing, reporting, reconciliations, and inquiry resolution.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, reviewing work, or managing direct and/or indirect reports.
• Strong ability to analyze complex data, investigate issues, monitor payout and operational trends, and make practical recommendations.
• Proficiency with industry-leading incentive compensation administration platforms; experience with reporting, data, and automation tools is preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and accountability for team deliverables, issue resolution, risk escalation, and timely completion of commitments.
• Strong organizational, project-management, problem-solving, written, verbal, and stakeholder-communication skills.
• Commitment to accurate execution, strong controls, confidentiality, and continuous process improvement.
• Willingness to be hands-on on projects
• Good to have IC health checks, plan modeling and design, contest design, goal setting experience
