Title: Manager, Compliance and Contracts
Reports to: General Counsel
Location: San Mateo, CA
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Pay Range: $125,000 - $160,000
**Final compensation is based on experience, skills, market benchmarks, and internal equity, with potential adjustments for candidate location. **
The Opportunity
The Manager, Compliance and Contracts is responsible for managing all Durable Medical Equipment licenses and overseeing, managing, and coordinating the company's contracts. They will work with the General Counsel to ensuring that the company's operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and internal policies. The role requires a high level of independence and effective collaboration with colleagues across various departments, including sales & marketing, research & development, clinical, business systems and more.
Specific Responsibilities
Compliance
- Manage all Durable Medical Equipment licenses and CMS enrollment
- Work with General Counsel to develop, implement, and manage effective compliance programs to ensure the company's operations and procedures comply with all legal regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain compliance calendars and coordinate responses to auditors and regulators.
- Monitor company procedures and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Provide training and guidance to company employees regarding new regulations and compliance measures.
Contracts
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the company's contracts. Track renewals, expirations, and contractual obligations
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in all contract matters.
- Manage contract creation, execution, and analysis to maximize operational and financial performance.
- Provide guidance on terms and conditions. Provide support for contract negotiations.
- Identify potential risks associated with contracts and propose creative solutions to mitigate them.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across various departments to ensure contract alignment with company objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on all contract-related matters.
Skills and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree; Paralegal certificate preferred.
- 5+ years corporate paralegal experience.
- Experience in contracts, corporate governance and compliance preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate.
- Certification in Contract Management.
- Experience in healthcare and MedTech.
- Knowledge of DME or MedTech industry laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of managing complex contracts and achieving financial or operational improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and provide clear guidance to team members.
