THE ROLE: BRAND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

We are looking for a highly organized, creatively driven, and relentlessly execution-focused Brand Communications Manager to join the SmartyPants Marketing team. In this role, you will serve as the day-to-day owner of brand campaigns, content, and creative execution across the full consumer journey. You will help bring our brand strategy to life through best-in-class communications, ensuring every asset, campaign, and consumer touchpoint reflects our brand standards while driving measurable business impact. 

This role sits at the center of marketing execution. You will lead campaign development and activation across major tentpole moments, manage asset creation from briefing through delivery, and partner closely with Brand, eCommerce and external agency teams to ensure work is delivered on time, on brand, and optimized for performance. 

The ideal candidate is equal parts brand steward, content strategist, and executional powerhouse. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Campaign Leadership & Execution 

• Serve as the day-to-day marketing lead for key brand campaigns, tentpoles, and product launches. 

• Project manage campaigns from concept through activation, ensuring flawless execution across all consumer touchpoints. 

• Own campaign timelines, deliverables, stakeholder alignment, approvals, and cross-functional coordination. 

• Partner with Media, eCommerce, Regulatory, and Creative partners to ensure cross-functional alignment 

Content & Creative Stewardship 

• Own the development and management of all brand content and creative assets. 

• Translate business objectives and consumer insights into clear, inspiring creative briefs. 

• Partner with external creative teams to develop breakthrough content aligned to brand strategy. 

• Ensure all content reflects SmartyPants' visual identity, tone of voice, and communication standards. 

Creative Adaptation & Full-Funnel Asset Development 

• Collaborate closely with Media and eCommerce teams to ensure creative is developed with channel and platform requirements in mind. 

• Understand how to build and optimize creative across the full consumer funnel, from awareness-driving hero content to conversion-driving commerce assets. 

• Guide the adaptation and remixing of campaign assets into platform-specific executions across channels, such as Meta, TikTok and Amazon. 

• Partner cross-functionally to incorporate creative learnings and performance insights into future asset development. 

• Champion a test-and-learn mindset, continuously improving creative effectiveness through iteration and optimization. 

Brand Communications & Storytelling 

• Help bring the SmartyPants brand platform to life through compelling campaigns, storytelling, and consumer experiences. 

• Identify opportunities to strengthen brand relevance, cultural participation, and consumer engagement. 

• Support development of messaging frameworks and communications toolkits 

• Ensure consistency of storytelling across all consumer-facing channels. 

Partner Management 

• Manage relationships with creative, production, and comms agency partners and contractors. 

• Provide clear direction, feedback, and accountability to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

• Facilitate collaboration across agency and internal teams while maintaining project momentum and budget discipline. 

• Champion creative excellence while balancing business objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. 

Project Management & Operational Excellence 

• Maintain oversight of budgets, timelines, creative asset trackers, and marketing calendars. 

• Develop processes that improve team efficiency, communication, and execution quality. 

• Ensure all deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. 

• Act as a trusted connector across functions, ensuring teams are aligned and informed throughout execution. 

CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED  

• 5+ years of experience in brand marketing, brand communications, integrated marketing, content strategy, or campaign management.  

• Proven experience leading cross-functional marketing campaigns from briefing through execution.  

• Strong understanding of modern content ecosystems and full-funnel marketing.  

• Experience managing large volumes of creative assets across multiple channels and stakeholders.  

• Ability to develop strong creative briefs and provide thoughtful, actionable creative feedback.  

• Deep appreciation for content, storytelling, design, and consumer behavior.  

• Strong understanding of social-first marketing and platform best practices, including Meta, TikTok, Influencer, and Ecommerce environments.  

• Exceptional project management and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.  

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.  

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.  

• Agency management experience across creative, content, production, or communications partners.  

• Self-starter mentality with a bias for action and ownership.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

The base salary range for this role is $101,800-124,500. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and overall alignment with the role.
