As GE Appliances Manager of Accounting (Controllership), you'll be a crucial element of the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. You'll oversee the end-to-end financial reporting processes, including preparing monthly and quarterly reports for Haier, the parent company. Your responsibilities will span across various tasks, including preparing US GAAP financial statements, performing month-end closing activities, and leading balance sheet reviews. Additionally, you'll manage a team, providing leadership, coaching, and support to ensure the smooth execution of financial reporting tasks. You'll also work closely with internal and external auditors, facilitating audit requests and supporting both external and internal audits.

How You'll Create Possibilities

• Owns and manages end-to-end financial reporting processes, including preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for submission to GE Appliances’ Parent, Haier.
• Supports the preparation of annual U.S. GAAP financial statements and related footnotes.
• Owns closing responsibilities for certain estimates and reserves, including evaluating various inputs and assumptions and preparing the monthly statement of cash flows.
• Leads quarterly balance sheet reviews with Finance teams, functional leaders, and legal entities.
• Performs comprehensive balance sheet analysis, identifies process improvements, and drives simplification initiatives in collaboration with the CFO’s Staff and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, transparency, consistency, and accountability.
• Partners with internal and external auditors to coordinate audit requests and support internal and external audit activities.
• Manages and develops Controllership team members responsible for monthly close and financial reporting across key business line items, including treasury, intracompany, and intercompany activities with Haier affiliates, while providing leadership, coaching, and support to the broader team.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Educational and Experiential Background

• May require a university degree and/or technical certification, supplemented by a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, reflecting a combination of theoretical understanding and practical proficiency in the field.
• Must possess an active CPA license.
• Prior experience with US GAAP and SOX required.
• Experience with one of the “Big Four” Public Accounting firms strongly preferred.

• Problem Solving & Execution Oversight: Troubleshoots moderately difficult issues within finance and operations, resolving challenges through sound judgment while managing team workflows and ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of financial tasks.
• Organizational Impact & Operational Leadership: Sets and executes short-term operational goals that impact immediate business outcomes. Leads day-to-day execution of financial processes such as reconciliations, entries, and reporting within defined standards and timelines.
• Theoretical & Functional Knowledge: Demonstrates broad technical and operational knowledge of finance practices, systems, and procedures. Coaches team members on standard methods while supporting continuous learning and improvement.
• Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitates effective communication of financial information across the team and to internal stakeholders. Ensures clarity, consistency, and accuracy in financial messaging and supports interpretation of financial insights.
• Business Partnership: Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to clarify expectations, remove barriers, and support effective delivery of financial services that meet business needs.
• Controllership & Risk Management: Maintains team compliance with internal controls and company policies. Identifies and escalates potential risk or control gaps, reinforcing standards that protect financial integrity and operational accuracy.
