Job Description
CHEP, A Brambles Company
At CHEP, we move millions of pallets, crates and containers through supply chains every day. As a global leader in sustainable logistics, we're continuing to invest in automation, technology and operational excellence across our network.
We're now looking for a Maintenance Lead to join our highly automated Kemps Creek Service Centre. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and developing people. Whether you're an experienced Maintenance Leader or a Senior Maintenance Fitter ready to take the next step into leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for keeping the site running safely and efficiently while building capability, accountability and teamwork within our maintenance function. This is not a role for someone who wants to spend all day behind a desk. We're looking for a leader who is comfortable jumping into breakdowns, solving problems alongside the team and taking ownership of outcomes.
Working closely with the Service Centre Manager, you'll help shape a positive maintenance culture while supporting a site that continues to evolve through automation and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading from the front and setting the standard for safety, accountability and teamwork.
Coordinating preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability.
Supporting hands-on maintenance and breakdown response when required.
Managing contractors, spare parts, maintenance schedules and purchasing activities.
Building strong working relationships across operations, administration and leadership teams.
Supporting and developing maintenance team capability.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety, reliability and equipment performance.
Utilising MEX and maintenance systems to plan, track and improve maintenance outcomes.
About You
You could be an experienced Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Supervisor or Reliability professional looking for a more hands-on leadership role.
Equally, you might be a highly capable Maintenance Fitter who has spent time mentoring others and is ready to step into your first formal leadership opportunity.
We're looking for someone who brings:
A mechanical or electrical trade qualification.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across a team.
A genuine sense of ownership and accountability.
Experience working in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or other automated environments.
Exposure to CMMS platforms, ideally MEX.
A practical, hands-on approach to maintenance leadership.
A willingness to support occasional weekend overtime requirements.
Experience with automation, robotics or highly automated equipment will be highly regarded.
Why Join CHEP?
Opportunity to step into a leadership role and make a real impact.
Exposure to one of CHEP Australia's most automated operations.
Career development pathways within a global organisation.
Supportive and safety-focused team culture.
Competitive remuneration with overtime opportunities.
The chance to help shape the future of maintenance capability at Kemps Creek.
Our Commitment to Diversity

We are committed to creating a workplace where people can bring their whole selves to work and feel valued for their unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives.
