This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $22.25 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Palmdale, FL!
2nd Shift 6 pm - 6:30 am
The Night Shift Machine Operator will be working at a Scott's production facility operating various machines associated with the production of mulch and soil products.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Set up and operate machinery associated with product packaging
- Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regular basis
- Maintain activity logs/downtime paperwork
- Operate forklifts to transport materials
- Work within the guidelines of all safety procedures
- Actively maintain good housekeeping standards assigned to your area
- Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision
- Ensure product quality by conducting a periodic quality checklist
- All other duties assigned
What you’ll need to be successful:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to identify all materials used, detail oriented, follow safe practices and procedures, ability to read English and or follow directions
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Able to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire day.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work and communicate well with others
- Attention to detail
