JOB FUNCTION
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations across Northern Vietnam to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective, and customer-focused warehousing and transportation activities. The role leads to logistics execution, inventory accuracy, contractor management, EHS compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and team development. Report to Logistics Manager.
Safety, Health & Environment (EHS):
- Ensure full compliance with PPG EHS standards, local regulations, and transportation safety requirements.
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and lead corrective actions for identified risks.
- Investigate logistics incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing preventive actions.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Support emergency response drills including fire, chemical spill, and transportation incidents.
- Ensure logistics providers comply with PPG safety requirements.
Logistics Operations:
- Supervise daily warehouse and transportation activities within the Northern region.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to achieve customer service targets.
- Monitor transportation performance and optimize delivery efficiency.
- Ensure proper inventory handling, storage, and movement according to established procedures.
- Support production and customer demand fulfillment through effective logistics planning.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure service quality and compliance.
Inventory Management
- Perform Goods Receipt/Adjustments transactions for Raw Materials and Finished Goods accurately & timely.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure compliance with cycle count programs.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory aging and slow-moving inventory.
- Support monthly and annual inventory audits.
Contractor Management
- Monitor logistics service providers' performance against agreed KPIs.
- Conduct regular contractor audits and performance reviews.
- Ensure transportation vendors comply with contractual requirements and PPG standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with logistics partners.
Cost Management.
- Monitor logistics spending against budget.
- Analyze transportation and warehousing costs.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
People Management
- Supervise and develop logistics personnel within the region.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
- Create individual development plans for team members.
- Ensure adequate training and competency development for all logistics personnel.
- Promote teamwork and employee engagement.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean, 5S, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities across transportation and warehousing activities.
- Support digitalization and automation projects.
- Participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly logistics performance reports.
- Track KPIs including:
- OTIF (On Time In Full)
· Inventory Accuracy
· Transportation Cost
· Warehouse Productivity
· Safety Performance
- Provide management with analysis and recommendations for operational improvements.
Requirements:
Education
· Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Experience
· Minimum 5 years of logistics, warehousing, or supply chain experience.
· Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
· Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
· Experience in chemical industry is an advantage.
· Experience managing 3PL providers and transportation contracts preferred.
Technical Knowledge
· Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
· ERP systems (Oracle, SAP preferred).
· Inventory Control and Cycle Counting.
· Transportation Operations.
· EHS and Regulatory Compliance.
· Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Language
· Vietnamese: Native proficiency.
· English: Fluent in both spoken and written.
