À propos de ce poste Legal Counsel chez GetGround
We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join GetGround’s Legal, Risk & Compliance team, giving practical, commercially minded legal and regulatory advice as we scale.
You’ll advise on commercial contracts, product questions, partnerships, regulatory matters and disputes, and work on projects that strengthen the function as the business grows. You’ll be a trusted partner to teams across GetGround and a key part of how we manage risk day to day.
The Opportunity
GetGround operates at the intersection of fintech, proptech and wealthtech. We have £2Bn+ in assets on platform, 30,000+ users across 70 countries, and a portfolio of regulated products spanning mortgages, property management, and investment tools. We are the first end-to-end real estate investment offering, making the dream of owning property accessible to everyone, globally. We're building the future of asset ownership and in doing so, helping to address wealth inequality.
As we continue to grow, our legal, risk and compliance needs are growing with us. You'll play a central role in keeping the business legally sound, moving quickly, and operating with integrity. This would be a great opportunity for a lawyer who wants to work on genuinely varied, interesting matters in a collaborative and supportive environment, with opportunities to learn and grow
What You'll Be Doing
Commercial and Contracts
Draft, negotiate and close a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier and vendor contracts, SaaS and technology agreements, and professional services agreements
Advise on GetGround’s customer-facing terms, including customer T&Cs, product terms and terms of use, keeping them clear, compliant and commercially sensible
Support negotiations on strategic partnership, referral, distribution and white-label deals that open new revenue lines
Maintain and improve contract templates, negotiation playbooks and fallback positions so teams can close routine deals without legal bottlenecks
Advise on contractual risk, including liability caps, indemnities, warranties, data protection terms and service levels
Corporate, Fundraising and M&A
Support equity and debt fundraising end to end: term sheets, investment agreements, disclosure, due diligence and completion
Draft and maintain shareholders’ agreements, articles of association, share option schemes (including EMI) and other share arrangements
Manage corporate governance and company secretarial work, including board and shareholder meetings, resolutions, statutory registers and Companies House filings
Lead or support M&A activity, from diligence and deal structuring through SPA negotiation, completion and integration
Keep the business investor-ready, with a clean data room and well-ordered corporate records
Manage external counsel on major transactions, keeping scope, cost and timelines tight
IP, Product and Regulatory
Negotiate IP licensing deals, both in-licensing and out-licensing, including software, data and API licences
Protect and grow GetGround’s IP, including trade marks and IP terms in employment and contractor agreements
Provide legal input on new product features, customer journeys and platform changes
Work with Compliance on contracts and communications touching FCA-regulated activity, including critical outsourcing, introducer arrangements and Consumer Duty
Advise on data protection and privacy, including UK GDPR, data sharing and AI-related terms
About You
You’re a UK qualified solicitor with 2+ years PQE in commercial and corporate law, gained in private practice, in-house, or both. You bring:
A strong track record negotiating complex commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer and product terms, NDAs and partnership deals
Hands-on corporate experience across fundraising, shareholders’ agreements, share schemes, governance and M&A
Experience drafting and negotiating IP licences
Experience in technology and financial services, and a good understanding of how FCA regulation applies to fintech products
A growth mindset: you see legal as a way to unlock deals, weigh risk against commercial reward, and give clear recommendations, not just legal analysis
Confident negotiation and stakeholder management skills, building trust with counterparties, investors and senior leaders
Excellent drafting skills and a high level of attention to detail
Comfort working independently, owning your workload and keeping deals moving
A collaborative approach and genuine interest in the business, not just the legal matters
Highly desirable:
In-house experience at a fast-growing fintech, ideally through a Series A or later round
Experience with property, mortgage or investment products
Buy-side M&A experience or integrating an acquired business
Experience setting up contract management tools, self-serve templates or legal automation
