As a senior leader in M&A and Corporate Development, you will play a key role in shaping the organization's inorganic growth strategy. You will independently lead deal origination, conduct market and industry mapping, identify potential acquisition targets, and build a high-quality pipeline aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will combine strong BFSI industry knowledge with proven expertise in M&A, corporate development, deal origination, and stakeholder management.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead M&A origination across segments within the BFSI industry, identifying opportunities that align with the organization's strategic and growth objectives.
• Develop and maintain a robust acquisition pipeline across banking, NBFCs, insurance, fintech, wealth management, asset management, lending, payments, and other relevant financial services segments.
• Conduct comprehensive market and industry mapping to identify emerging businesses, attractive sub-sectors, consolidation opportunities, and potential acquisition targets.
• Originate and evaluate potential transactions through extensive market research, industry intelligence, professional networks, and relationship building.
• Build and maintain relationships with promoters, founders, CXOs, investment bankers, private equity investors, advisors, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop investment theses and preliminary business cases for potential acquisition opportunities.
• Work closely with internal leadership, strategy, finance, legal, risk, and business teams to assess strategic fit and transaction feasibility.
• Coordinate with advisors and external stakeholders during due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and transaction structuring.
• Track competitive M&A activity, industry consolidation, regulatory developments, and market trends to identify new opportunities.
• Prepare and present opportunity assessments, transaction rationale, market intelligence, and pipeline updates to senior leadership.
• Support negotiations and transaction execution from initial discussions through signing and closure.
• Develop a structured framework for continuously sourcing and prioritizing potential acquisition opportunities.

Experience

9–15 years of relevant experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Strategy, Private Equity, or related functions, with significant exposure to deal origination and transaction opportunities within BFSI.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong track record of identifying strategic opportunities, developing acquisition pipelines, building senior-level relationships, and contributing to successful M&A transactions.
