As an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), you'll play a hands-on role in keeping that foundation strong. Working closely with the Facility Security Officer (FSO), you'll help protect classified programs, support cleared personnel, and ensure the organization meets its obligations under U.S. Government security requirements — all while being part of a team where your attention to detail and commitment to integrity directly enables mission-critical work.

What You'll Do

• Support the administration of GE Vernova's industrial security program, assisting the FSO with personnel security actions, clearance processing, visit requests, and access documentation.
• Maintain security records, compliance documentation, and classified material accountability — including storage, transmission, reproduction, and destruction procedures.
• Coordinate visitor control, escort procedures, and badging activities, and assist with security education, briefings, debriefings, and awareness programs.
• Support inspections, self-assessments, audits, and corrective action tracking, serving as a reliable point of coordination for internal stakeholders and authorized government representatives.

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance or ability to start the process to obtain day 1 of hire
• Prior experience as a Special Security Officer (SSO), Corporate Special Security Officer (CSSO), Assistant FSO, or in a comparable security role
• Experience supporting SAP, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), or other controlled-access program environments

  

Eligibility Requirements

• US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government (USG) clearance

 

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field — or equivalent professional
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in industrial security or defense industrial base (DIB)
• Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) (32 CFR Part 117), DoDM 5205.07 (Volumes 1–4), and related federal policy frameworks
• Familiarity with visit control, classified material handling, and records management requirements
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills with the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard administrative or security management systems
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

 

Preferred

• Prior experience supporting an FSO, AFSO, Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), or a related security function
• Familiarity with Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP)/eApp, and other government security platforms
• Experience in a defense, aerospace, or government contracting environment

 

 

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $87,800.00 and $146,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
