Job Summary
The (Mechanical) Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of mechanical engineers and support staff engaged in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. This role ensures that engineering projects are executed efficiently, meet technical and quality standards, and align with organizational goals. The supervisor also plays a key role in mentoring junior engineers, managing project timelines, and fostering innovation in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
This job profile is intended for People Managers of 4+ junior to experienced expert-level roles.

Purpose of the Job:

As a Principal Piping Engineer, you will participate in Sulzer projects at all execution stages (Conceptual design, Skid and Modular design, DD, Procurement / Construction / Commissioning support etc.).

Principal Piping Engineer reports to the Chief Piping Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Take lead in overall piping design of skid
• Act as overall mechanical engineering IC in skid projects
• Train and guide piping engineers
• Design, 3D modeling and review of main metal structures of skids and modules
• Piping stress analysis
• Development of the drawings and other design documents within discipline
• Material selection within discipline
• Value engineering within discipline
• Interface management
• Participate in the development of technical specifications for design, technical requirements for supply, etc.
• Supervision and support of subcontractors' activities
• Checking and approval documentation from subcontractors.
• Participation in the development of design philosophy and internal standards within the discipline
• Participation in the project meetings, 3D models review etc.
• Contribute to development of the overall project schedule.
• Tracking and managing changes within discipline
• Participation in the project progress report development.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
• 10 years’ experience in the oil and gas industries.
• Good knowledge of applicable industrial standards and best practices. (China & International)
• Good knowledge of designing methods and economic analysis.
• Extensive experience in skid and modular design
• General knowledge of oil and gas plant construction.

Language

• Fluent in Mandarin and English

Others

• Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple tasks.
• Ability to work in multiple projects.
• Ability to travel on business trips including lengthy business trips to site during construction and commissioning.
