The Audit Department assists the Bank's Board of Directors and senior management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls within Bank business areas over financial reporting and other critical operations, effectiveness and efficiency of operations, compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations, and the adequacy of the Bank's risk management and governance processes.
Under limited supervision and oversight, this role provides internal audit coverage through a variety of assignments including but not limited to assisting or leading as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) complex local and System audit work, project monitoring, special reviews and/or projects and liaison assignments.
Represent the department and the System Audit Community on workgroups and assist the Board of Governors (Board) or other agencies with reviews of other Reserve Banks.
Provide independent, objective assurance and exercise professional skepticism designed to identify and assess control weaknesses and deficiencies and to recommend improvement opportunities.
What You Will Do:
- Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will plan and execute complex local and System engagements as an AIC or assistant.
- AIC responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, executing and reporting audit activities, communicating with multiple levels of Bank management, supervising auditors who may be of a higher grade level and completing audit evaluations.
- As an assistant, participates in engagements with minimal oversight from AIC and management. Strengthen the department's relationship with operations management through liaison responsibilities and by responding to ad hoc requests.
- Conduct analysis of the design and implementation of new business processes and new automated systems to ensure audit controls by walkthroughs or other methods.
- Involved in the accomplishment of departmental goals and quality initiatives as a team leader or team member. Identify, analyzes, evaluates and documents information to achieve specific assignment objectives.
- Participate in local and System training.
- Represent the department by participating on Bank and System workgroups or committees.
- Assist the Board, other agencies, and other Reserve Bank audit departments with their reviews of internal audit and operations.
- Overarching responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditors Global Internal Audit Standards and Code of Ethics.
- Comply with all other relevant department, Bank, and System policies and requirements.
- Identify other tasks to further the department's mission and personal professional development as identified and approved.
- Be a valued advisor by establishing and maintaining working relationships with business area management, auditees, and external parties.
- Fulfill job responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
What You Have:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience (preferably in public accounting, internal audit, consulting or controls/compliance).
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Professional certification related to Auditing, Accounting, or Information Technology required.
- Certifications may include; Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Project Management Professional (PMP). Other relevant certifications may be considered.
Other Requirements:
- Up to 5%-10% domestic travel. Sunday travel occasionally required.
- Subject to extended work hours to complete audit work and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility in scheduling remaining work hours outside the core window, subject to manager approval.
- The salary grade for this position is: Dual grade 13/14. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
