As a IT Vendor Operations Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of laptop hardware and networking solutions within a fast‑growing startup, ensuring seamless delivery, maintenance, and optimization of all device-related services. You will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, translating technical requirements into actionable contracts and service level agreements. Your expertise in hardware troubleshooting, coupled with a deep understanding of networking fundamentals and CompTIA A+ principles, will guarantee minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution. By driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering strong vendor relationships, you will play a pivotal role in scaling the organization’s IT infrastructure while maintaining cost efficiency and high quality standards.

Requirements

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Own the procurement, configuration, and deployment of laptop hardware across the organization.

• Develop and maintain vendor scorecards to assess performance, quality, and compliance.

• Lead root‑cause analysis of hardware failures and implement preventive maintenance plans.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service level agreements with multiple vendors in a competitive market.

• Oversee warranty claims, repairs, and replacements to ensure maximum asset lifecycle value.

• Coordinate with networking teams to integrate hardware solutions into existing network infrastructure.

• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage reorder points for all device components.

• Create and update standard operating procedures for hardware installation and troubleshooting.

• Conduct vendor audits and supplier risk assessments to mitigate operational risks.

• Provide monthly reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and hardware utilization metrics.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁

• 2+ years of experience in IT vendor management and hardware operations within a startup environment.

• Strong technical background with CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent expertise.

• Proven track record of negotiating vendor contracts and achieving cost reductions.

• Hands‑on knowledge of laptop hardware components, BIOS, and firmware updates.

• Solid understanding of basic networking concepts, including DHCP, VLANs, and network topology.

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Effective communication skills, comfortable presenting to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement workflows.
