We are looking for an IT Service Manager, HR and QHSE to join our team.

As the IT counterpart to the HR (People, Communications and Culture), Payroll and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) functions, you will play a key role in developing and harmonizing global payroll and time management solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, process owners and IT colleagues, you will develop applications, processes and capabilities that support business needs.

You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of solutions and services, ensuring they remain reliable, compliant and fit for purpose. The IT Management Processes team designs, delivers and manages solutions across PCC, Payroll, QHSE, and Reporting & Analytics.

Strong background in IT or QHSE or PCC organization, combined with experience and an understanding of different cultures, will help you succeed in this demanding position. You will work in close cooperation with Valmet’s global QHSE and PCC functions and process owners, key users and your own team members and other Valmet IT teams.

The selected candidate can be located in Tampere or Vantaa and will report to Director, IT Management Processes Domain.

Main responsibilities

• Drive harmonization in payroll and time management solutions: Manage and develop the payroll and time & attendance applications and their integration into PCC, finance and other systems. Drive adoption of global solutions to replace local applications.
• Act as the key IT partner for PCC, Payroll and QHSE: Participate in design, development, and testing of IT solutions so that they meet the organization's current and future business needs. 
• Own the end-to-end application and service lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle of the applications and services from design and implementation to operations and retirement. Align and prioritize development together with stakeholders and ensure alignment with Valmet’s IT strategy.
• Participate in process and capability development: Participate in business process development as the IT representative and ensure our solutions and capabilities are aligned.
• Maintain roadmaps and development plans together with the Domain Lead and Enterprise Architect
• Understand the QHSE, Payroll and Time Management context, processes, requirements, objectives and expectations. Be the trusted SME from IT towards the business and functions.
• Vendor management: Work in close cooperation with our vendors to ensure the cost-efficient and timely delivery of new development items and support services.

To be successful in this position, you need to have:

• Degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) from IT or another relevant field.
• 3-5 years of work experience and knowledge of relevant IT solutions
• Our working language is English, but for tasks related to time and attendance systems and Finnish working time legislation, strong Finnish language skills are essential.
• Service management, development, and project management skills 
• Development-oriented thinking with ambition to always improve ways to operate
• Experience and knowledge of QHSE and PCC processes, their requirements, and their impact on IT processes
• Good understanding of payroll and time-management processes, including their data flows, integrations and compliance requirements

As an advantage we value:

• Experience and understanding of global IT functions and services
• Studies in IT management

• Experience with the following solutions and platforms: SpheraCloud (EHS management), Nepton (time management), and payroll systems such as Mepco, CGI Payroll, or similar solutions.
• Experience in payroll or time-management system implementations, upgrades or vendor-managed payroll services
